My group of friends is doing a bunch of elementally-themed mods; one is doing wood, another is doing metal, and I'm doing "water".

After looking for methods of how to at least get the illusion of water, I came upon the article Strip Out The Fans, Add 8 Gallons of Cooking Oil. The article mentions deionized water and vegetable cooking oils; my question is this:

Given the success with the cooking oil, what about other oils? I had the idea of using mineral oil, but have no idea how a motherboard/processor would handle it. And what about dielectric fluid?
