AGP or PCI exp ?

Hi i have at the moment an AGP Radeon 9800 pro and was thinking of upgrading my whole system to PCI exp ( eg Motherboard etc) cost about £600, but my local shop is selling AGP Asus GeForce 6800 for £120 , will i notice much of a gain in performance in games ? Is it worth the whole upgrade yet or will this card do me for a while esp at this price?

Yeah, you'll notice an increase in performance, but not a huge increase and not worth the money. It'd be much better spent on a whole system.

You might be better off getting an Athlon64 and Asrock 939dual-SATA2 motherboard; the board can use both AGP and PCI express cards with no performance penalty for either!

Then buy a new PCI-express card when you can afford something that will really make a difference...

You're beter spending $100 less for an X800 XT or X850 XT. The 7800 GS isn't that impressive.

Yeah, just saw the expected $299 price tag...yep go with the ATi X850. I'm no ATi fan but the X800 series is quite stable and the drivers are dependable.
