Specify which speakes do you have, and if you're using a soundcard or the one that came with the motherboard.

Is this a joke?
I can't believe that anybody would format the hard drive has a step to resolve a speaker issue!!
Did you find a cord for your old computer?

Poor kid, try to find out if you've actually connected the "non-working" one. And yes, did you find that power cord?

Depending on the connection to the speaker out, it is possible to put the jack in such a way that only one speaker will work. This would be the first place to check. Glad you got it going in any case.
