I am a newbe and this is my first time upgradeing my pc. I have a Gateway pc that is about 4 years old. And I have a GeForce4 MX 440. I dont know if my motherboard has a agp 2x or 4x or a 8x slot. Could you guys tell me what kind of slot i have by my graphic card. I really need to know what kind of interface i have so i buy a new graphic card.

More about : motherboard

You will have an AGP slot in your PC, probably a AGP x2 or AGP x4.

I've had a look what cards will fit in your system and unless you have a AGPx4 you can forget it. A AGPx8 card will not fit in a computer that only supports AGPx2 ann most 'decent' cards are AGPx8 or a newer standard called PCI-express.

Any idea what make/model your PC is ?
