New Motherboard Install Question.

I am in the process of installing a new motherboard. My question is do you have to reformat the drive and do a fresh install of Xp Pro. Or can I hook the drive up to the new motherboard and fire the computer up as if nothing has changed?

depends if they are using the same chipset like nf4 then maybe you could just plug it in and see

As has been said, it will only work if it uses the same chipset.

If windows won't load, just do a repair of windows using your XP cd and it should be all good with no loss of data.

Altho, if possible, it's always recommended to format and do a fresh XP install.
