Hi,

I have a Canon BJC-70 that is several years old. It's a small portable
inkjet printer intended for laptops.

A couple of weeks ago, I started having a problem with it. On startup,
shutdown, and when off, the printhead/cartridge always moves around
and returns to where it should be.

However, when the printer is on, the printhead moves to the center and
refuses to budge. The "ready" light simply blinks rapidly, and
pressing it as well as any other button does nothing to move it.

If I try rebooting it or reinstalling software, it still does the same
thing. If I send a printjob to it, it just acts like it's processing
the job but then prints nothing.

So they printhead just sits in the middle, doing nothing. What could
be wrong with it? Is there some hidden reset button I could press set
it right again? Some diagnostic software? Is it worth taking to a
repair shop, or should I just toss it and buy a new printer? Up until
now, it's worked perfectly and I would like to keep it.

Thanks in advance for any help you give me.
