I've not seen any slowdown with the page file disabled, but I have 12GB of memory and hardly ever get anywhere near using it all up.

Run task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to see how much memory you're using. Check the number below the left end of the memory graph on the "Performance" tab.

indeed, but if he only has 2gb then hes gonna find some problems ;)
