Hi

I've seen a lot of postings suggesting upgrading the BIOS for improvements in performance on motherboards.

I've always held back from doing this as from what I've read messing with the bios can be a diaster unless you know what you are doing. Well I'm one of those people that the saying 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing' was written for.

Having said that I like to keep everything up to date where ever possible.

One of the problems I have is that I'm never quite sure that I would be downloading the correct BIOS version for my mobo.

According to Belarc I have a;

QDI Superb 4 V1.XX
133 MGhz
Bios: Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00 PG 10/11/2002.

Any advice on how to upgrade the bios and what the latest version is would be gratefully recieved. 8O

Go to your mfg web site for the MB. They should have a download section for your, listing all updates avaliable. On the bios updates they should have the required procedure. Some require you to boot from floppy, some alloy you do do it during the boot process. Some ever allow updates through windows.
