More Information

CD rom is set to boot. (Also tried another dvdr rom too)
Tried Official Windows XP Pro and Official XP Home CD's.

The C drive is a previous D drive which hasn't been formatted yet. (ie it still has mp3s and stuff on it, which can be deleted).

We are trying to do a fresh install of Windows XP Home.

This is my Mum's pc - we are both in different countries - I'm phoning her and trying to talk her through the install. (via Skype).

The bios seems to read all devices apart from the Primary Master is still showing as auto at this stage. The atapi cd-rom is set to boot first.

They have tried checking all connections. The only odd thing I can find out is that the installed memory is showing as 256mb instead of 768mb.

Focussing on the No emulation.... Could you please advise. Trying other things in between - it's been 0ver 24 hours now.

I'd love some experienced and expert advice please.

(The pc is an Asus A7V8X Motherboard, 1800Mhz and should have 768 of ram).
