I am trying to connect to a Symantec firewall/VPN from a home PC
(Windows XP SP1) via a Netgear DG824M (Firmware Ver 1.4 Rev 05) using
the Symantec VPN client. From what I have read, as this is a NAT
firewall I need to be able to allow "VPN pass through" from the PC for
VPN traffic. I have tried to connect with the Symantec VPN client
software to the remote firewall/vpn applicance but it fails to connect
each time. I noticed on the Netgear website that the DG824M supports
"VPN pass through" and I have read various posts on google groups that
state the DG824M does / does not support this. I also could not find
anything in the documentation for the router on "VPN pass through". I
did notice the DMZ settings but this doesn't appear to be of use as it
will only allow the DMZ host to be in the same address range as the
DHCP allocated addresses e.g 192.168.0.0. When the VPN client connects
it connects from the IP given to it by the Symantec firewall.

Does anyone know if the DG824M does support VPN "pass through" and if
it does how do I enable it.

Thanks in advance
