time to upgrade ddrII in a av7880 ??

i have an asus a7v880 mobo and have one sad stick of pc3200 512m value ram at the moment
i appear to have killed the other one at around 227hz

so the questions are
is any memory above pc3200 classified as ddr2 (i might be confused again)
can i use ddr2 memory in this board
would i be better off just buying good quality pc3200
any recomendations

i know i'm a bit of a numpty for havin to ask such simple questions

I think the A7880 is a AMD motherboard, right? If so, you can't use DDR2 with it. There are DDR memories that go above DDR400 (PC 3200) and are not necesarily DDR2.

Your only choice is to either do a full upgrade or get more DDR PC3200 RAM.

so i'll not be buying another cheap pc3200 chip as id only kill it again
i'll whip the remaining one out and replace with a pair of quality chips

the mobo will goto 227hz what memory would you recomend
