I have two hard drives in my computer C: and D:. My C drive was going bad so I temperary installed a third hard drive (E:) and then copied all the files from C: to E:. Afterwards I Replaced c: with E: but when I now boot I only see D: and E:. How can I change the designation of E: to C: so my programs will work.

That's some good info. I though you can't change the designation letters other than reformatting the hard drive. Now I know.

If you're looking to directly replace C: (your OS/boot drive) you will have to clone it to another drive because it contains the MBR - master boot record.
