I've been reading for a while about people saying to make sure you get the dualcore drivers from AMD when you get your system running. Well now that I finally got my replace cpu (first one arrived smashed) I'm looking at the AMD site and wonder which are the actual drivers everyone is speaking of? I guess I'm confused by the stuff on the site or something

Which AMD dual core do you have?

If you have an Opteron then you want:
"AMD Opteron™ Processor PowerNow! Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2"
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9033,00.html

If you have an X2 then you want:
"AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.2.2.2"
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html

This is assuming you use Windows XP of course. Microsoft has also has a patch available for dual core processors, but I don't think its publicly available for download. You will have to call Microsoft are request it if you are having performance issues and think that patch may help you.
