My boss has been leaving her laptop (Compaq Presario R3000) in her car overnight - we are in -10 weather and her battery is dead. There is a message saying to switch over to outlet power to avoid loosing her work; can anybody tell me how to do that?

Just simply get the power cord that comes with the laptop and plug it in the power outlet. You mean the battery is nearly dead? Otherwise the screen won't be on in the first place. There is an apadtor that would allow you to connect the laptop to the car, so you don't have to worry about the battery dying on you.

I just hope u can get message.
