dual 7800gtx... memory shown?

Will dual 7800 gtx show 512 memory in directx or in the video card settings? I had a dual setup and it only showed 256 memory in both and when i clicked on the advance video option tab the system would lock up. Until i reinstalled the drivers but then i would get random lockups. Anyway does anyone have any experience with the dual card set up and if it shows both at 512mb or 256 mb?

256+256 does not equal 512 (In SLI terms) the data is mirrored on both cards. So it will not show as 512..

hmm. well then i must of had some driver problems that was causing the lock up. So how do you know if they are both installed correctly?

Get the latest driver for your graphics card if you don't have it.

I have the same 7800 GTX 256 MB showing 256 for memory, which is correct.

Finding out the driver version of your display card, follow this steps.

Click start

Go to My Computer and right click then to to Properties.

You'll see System Properties

Click on Hardware and go to Device Manager which pops another window

In the Device Manager window find the icon that says Display adapter and click

On either card right click and go to properties, which pops a another window saying Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX Properties

Click on the Driver Tab

You'll see the Driver Version displaying your current driver for the graphics card

The latest one should be the 8.1.9.8 version.

If not then update it.
