I just recieved my two new Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD4000YR 400GB OEM drives which both Newegg and Western digital specify as having a 5 year warranty.
While I am waiting for Western Digitals Tools to finish the extended test on both drives, I use their online warranty checker only to find the warranty on both drives is set to expire on 11/15/2008. That's 3 years from the manufacture date not 5 as claimed.

I x'ed out my serial numbers, but if anyone wants to verify this, they can use this one wmamy1202887 from a post complaining of the same problem.
Western Digital's Warranty policy clearly shows bulk YR models as being covered for 5 years.
Warranty Check
I emailed WD support and am waiting for a response.
Am I missing something?
Has anyone else with a WD4000YR checked the status of their warranty online?
