I think this motherboard does not support duel channel memory, but I was wondering if the memory would still work. I do not have a good understanding of memory so if someone could help that would be great!

Which K8N are you referring to????

ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and possibly others use model numbers which include "K8N".

If you are talking about a socket 754 motherboard then it only supports single channel mode however you can still use a "Dual Channel" memory kit which is nothing more than 2 matched / identical memory sticks ( which in theory have been tested together to verify they work well ).

Socket 939 supports dual channel which can increase your memory bandwidth because the memory controller built into the AMD CPUs can address 2 memory sticks at the same time.

Socket 939 + nForce4 is a better choice than socket 754 if you can afford it.

I have the K8N board and dual channel memory works fine, its just only used in single channel mode.

unless you're looking for the budget option, go with a 939 board.
