I was thinking building a new AMD system with crossfire.

What would a good motherboard be. Is the ATi chipset stable/mature enough, or is it smarter to go with sli.

I was planning on a adding a 2nd card later on. I want to OC a bit but not like crazy.

Would you go with dual or single core. This system would be used mainly for gaming. I guess any system is O.K. for Internet & Word.

Is it true that only XP pro takes proper advantage of the second core (I really don't feel like buying Pro when I have Home)

Thanks

We had a really good discussion about this a few weeks ago. WinXP Home does indeed take advantage of the second core.

The confusion was this: Windows XP Home does not support 2 PHYSICAL CPU's (i.e., dual CPU systems). Since dual core is techincally 1 CPU according to M$'s licensing policy, it is supported.

Make sense?
