7800 gt having problems nfs Most wanted 81.98 HELP...

hi,

ı purchased my card three days ago. while ı am playing nfs most wanted at 1024*768 full settings it slows sometimes ı mean it stop for a second then goes on.ı had a 6600 gt and ı could play better at the same settings .. ı should admit that the visuals are far better and different but everytime it stops one in a while it is killing me what do you think is the problem? my cpu? or some driver issues ? do you have the same problem?

all defaults:

3dmark03: 14756 cpu: 1161
3dmark05: 6949 cpu: 5463
3dmark06: 3452 (1495+1481+981)

I have the same problem, just that I am runing of an old GeForce FX, so I thought it was that my gpu was too slow, but if a 7800 cant handle it, it must be something non-gpu related.

If you are good at editing the reg try this dude it worked for me and other games that did the same thing as you

Open the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftDirect3D] key and change the value of DisableDP2 to "1" to disable Direct3D, or "0" to enable it. Reg entry would be [DisableDP2] 0 ,with out the brackets create a dword key than add [disableDP2] value =0




[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftDirect3DDrivers] key and change the value of SoftwareOnly to "1" to use software emulation or "0" to disable it and this create a dword name SoftwareOnly and value 0
