Overclocking the 6800 Gs

I cant seem to overclock my 6800gs agp card? evry review is saying they overclocked there card using rivatuner or coolbits and not one has worked for me. it is saying that the tect failed do to drivers. I have the drivers from nvidia the beta ones. anyone know what to do

Download the new stable nvidia driver release - not the beta(it is beta for a reason). After that, use the coolbits registry change, and let the driver detect the best settings for your videocard. The coolbits trick can be downloaded here:

beta are the only driver out right now for the bfg 6800GS

Are you getting these drivers straight from BFG, or Nvidia? Nvidia's latest drivers do support the 6800GS. You can download them here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.98.html

After you download and install that, download and install coolbits.

I tried downloading the new drivers from nvidia and they wont install.
Are the beta driver stoping me from overclocking?? Andif so will I be able to overclock when WHQL drivers come out that support the 6800 GS??

Which 6800 GS do you have BFG/eVGA/XFX...? Did you unlock the pipes? If you did then overclocking doesn't seem to wrk very well. I had to lock mine back to overclock.

I have a BFG 6800 GS agp card. Yes I have the pipes unlocked. did you have the same problem with it saying the driver test failed to allow mhz?
what kind of card do you have?

I have the eVGA 6800 GS and with the pipes unlocked it won't let me OC. I had to lock them back to do it. I was able to OC then with no problem or artifacts.

Oberon- Do you have a AGP card and what drivers do you use?

Yes mine is AGP and i'm using the 82.12 beta drivers. So far no problems. My card was stock at 350/1000 and I now have it at 400/1100. Holding stable and I will take it up more later.

I have been trying to solve this problems from a week.
what kind of benchmarks are you getting and what are your system specs.
what benchmarks do you use??

I will post them tonight. I'm at work right now and don't have them with me. I use 3dmark 2001 se/03/05. Want to try aquamark also.
