Plextor PX-716SA

I have couple of questions about this dual layer burner. I've owned one of these since about August 05 and wonder if anyone else has had some of the same problems I have.

I've never ever on many computers been able to have WinXP Pro detect it as the SA (SATA) version it always gets detect as just the A even with all the drivers for everything updated. Just kind of annouying since I payed the extra for a SATA burner.

After about 5 months the thing crapped out on me, wouldn't read DVDs any more and autorun on other formats got really slow (would put in a CD and come back in 10mins and it would still be trying to load it) and got it RMA for one that was manufactuered even before the first one I bought! (took a couple weeks too)

Then my last question is are there any other SATA DVD or DL DVD burners out there, I haven't seen any yet but I haven't looked super hard. I do like the tiny cables instead of those damn ribbons.
