advice on my new comp

I'm going to purchase my comp parts on monday and before I pay for it I thought it might be a good for you guys to give me some advice to tweek it. I have about $2000 to spend.
case:antec p180
psu:antec truepower 550w
CPU:athlon 64 x2 4200
motherboard:ASUS A8R-MVP Socket 939 ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 CrossFire ATX AMD CrossFire Motherboard
video card:connect3d 1900xt
ram: 2g of pc3200 gskillsModel F1-3200PHU2-2GBNS
hard drive: Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6B100M0 100GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
dvd burner
dvd drive
monitor: ViewSonic VX922 Black/Silver 19" 2ms LCD Monitor - Retail
I have a second monitor lcd monitor from my old comp that i will aslo be using. Its nothing special just a 17" lcd
I am going to use this comp for gaming mostly. I will have other programs running simultaneously such as mircosoft office on the 17" lcd.
I will be doing alot of mulit tasking at times. I want a dual core chip, but I am willing to hear any suggestions.

If you only use it for gaming and multi-tasking... You can better swith the maxtor for a WD740GD dont think that will do any harm to your budget?

hey pc rigwere could I find a vx930 i haven't seen that anywere.

I was also wondering If i could run two ati's eventually on that sli board.

The only thing I would change is the HDD. I don't like or use Maxtor. Seagate IMO is the way to go man. Just find one with the biggest cache.

another question:
what is the difference between 16mb cache and 8mb cache how much of a proformace increase is it? is it worth it.

Yes, but if planning on running Crossfire, your second video card must be a Crossfire Master card variant...

(You have a Crossfire mainboard, not an "SLI" board)
