Location (Master vs Slave) of devices

Just installed a new DVD Burner.

It is set-up Primary IDE. Hard drive as master, DVD Burner as Slave. Secondary IDE. Hard drive as master, DVD as slave.

I play a lot of games, Everquest, WoW, etc. Burn DVD's.

Does it matter what order I install these devies?

Primary and Slace on a single channel share bandwidth, If you burn a dvd while doing hard access on the hard drive you could drain the dvd burning buffer, this was much more of a problem with the orinigal cd burners that didn't have underrun protection. It won't make much difference these days. I would personally have the Primary with your main HD as master and the dvd as slave, and the Secondary with your DVD Burner as master and second HD as slave.
