Intel P4 LGA 3 Ghz 531 EM64T
2x512 DDR2-667 Geil UltraX cl 3
Asus P5AD2-Deluxe 925xe

how can i overclock it, and what is the maximum that i can get with mai cooling standard system ? because in the "P4 Overclocking Guide" it doesn't say anithing about 925xe chipsets. Thank you

PS I use the box cooler

Go into the BIOS, change the memory settings to manual, then set the timings to auto. Go into the Genie BIOS and change the muliplier to manual. Then start taking the multiplier up one step at a time.

Once I got my FSB up high enough to where the machine wouldn't boot anymore, I changed my RAM to DDR400 1:1 ratio and cranked up the core voltage. My RAM timings currently on that board is 4-4-4-12. I haven't changed them yet.

I use a zalman cooler on mine. It idles around 32C and it caps around 50-52C using prime95.

It will take some time to get it cranked up. Take your time and test the machine after each step.

what test procedures are best to do to see if it is stable ?

Adobe premiere rendering and photoshop effects will be enough !?

illisitsc hit it right on the mark. I primarily use prime95. Last night on my Intel machine, I let it run for about 8 hours to get the system burned in good. I'm getting it ready to start tinkering with the RAM timings more. I know I don't have the best RAM on that board but for cheap RAM, it sure has impressed me quite a bit.

What I would do to get the best OC is, crank the memory back to DDR400 in the genie bios, go to advanced chipset peripherals and set the RAM to manual, then set the timings to auto which should set them to 4-4-4-12 by default. This will also drop the FSB/RAM ratio to 1:1 instead of 3:4. Use CPU-Z (downloadable program) to monitor your board and mem stats.
