I've been reading several posts about the X2 vs the Opteron chips. Assuming that both are 939 sockets does that necessarily make the Opteron compatable with all 939 socket motherboards? Or are there specific 939 Opteron compatable MB's

I could not find any info in my MB manuel nor by googling to confirm or deny this.

Any help would be appreciated.

The opterons are compatible with any 939 board.

Although the MB's BIOS might need updating if a particular older version that pre-dates the socket 939 Opteron family, possibly...
