That IS the reason why your phone's battery is dead, you should be WORKING not wasting time on your phone.

How about a hot swappable battery ?
You can have a small internal rechargeable battery (or capacitor) that will run the phone for a minute or two so you can swap in a spare battery.
Not for the iPhone of course as you an not easily swap batteries on that brick.

If you have to constantly place it in the purse to charge it(more so once you have killed the battery), Its not quite an ALL day experience. In fact many of those case/battery units would be more useful to someone who "Needs" to be on the phone ALL day long instead of doing work(unless they phone IS the work ).

On the other hand. Its a nice way to charge on the go if you forgot to charge the phone.
