Wireless laptop connect to Wired Desktop

Hello,
My Desktop is connected to a NetGear Router and is on a DLS line to internet. My wireless laptop picks up signal ok and goes online, it also "sees" desktop name, but I can't connect to it for file and printer sharing. Would appreciate help.

Is your firewall set to allow such sharing?

They also need to be in the same workgroup Like "workgroup" or "mshome" depending on the OS. Also did you share out the drive and printer?
