Speaker's Headphone jack? or SoundCard's?

Would it be better to plug the headphones in the speakers or the soundcard? (speakers would be more convenient of course)
If the headphones have a wider range than the speakers, will they be limited by them?
I Also have the option of installing a panel with a headphone jack in front of the case, would wiring the sound card to that panel reduce quality?

If your only using headphones and never use regular speakers then plug them in the normal line out.
If you switch between the two then use the port on the speakers.
Shouldnt be any difference between the two. Plus makes it easier to switch them.
