I am watching the U.S congress on CNN explain to the American people and the U.S Armed Forces that Hezbollah are funded and backed by IRAN so the Arab Country's inclusive Lebanon that has Hezbollah and Iran now said to back Hezbollah means the UNITED STATES and England and Canada and Isreal are going to start a world war against the whole middle east. Canada was given Afghanistan to control and they are seeing the heaviest fighting this month alone as an overseas force since the Korea War

Just like all the bible stories and whatever else that was ever written its going to come to the end of it shortly. The Middle East is on Fire.

Reply to Yahiko81

It looks like they are setting it up to go that far.... I just watched gun footage from an Israeli fighter they went and recorded the rockets leaving a building, like 6 fired out then they go back and blow it up or after they record the evidence of the launches. Remember that they are trying to prove the location is being used by the Hezbollah before they hit a target so the Lebanese cant say they are hitting civilian targets. The Pilot had to watch 6 missiles fired at his country before he could put the hammer down on the terrorists.

A half hour later CNN is showing the building hit laying in rubble and there is no people running around saying many civilians killed because they have CNN running as well and know it was not the case.

If they have time to make a movie then blow them up its a good guess they have the Hezbollah beaten militarily lets hope they can get all of them so the bloodshed can stop.

I think that's what will need to happen in order for these countries to stop attacking Isreal. At the same time though, they need to be careful and not go to far with it. Then it will give syria and Iran an excuse to attack. I hope that the government isn't purposely throwing the region into chaos so they can step in and finish off syria and Iran.

Then again, it may already have gone to far.

Hi Sod--or as Tom affectionately calls you: Hi Coco :) --trust you're well and from reading this I see your still kicking as you alwasy have. :D

Mate, that lengthy first sentence does not make sense to me. I know you may have missed a couple of punctuation points, but it needs to be rephrased because to be frank, I cant understand the thrust of your argument; this in particular:

Quote :

I dont believe that is correct at all. Western public opinion is heavily against such actions and Rice's carefully articulated phrases are miles away from the days of the neoconservatives shaping Bush's gung-ho speeches (Axis of Evil anybody? )

All of that kind of language has gone out the window; the neocons have failed to deliver quick but sustainable democratic change in Afghanistan and Iraq: time and patience are something that developed democracies simply do not tolerate when it comes to the notion of nation building; tragic, I know, but true.

Quote :

That's erroneous to suggest that, Sod. You know it, too. This "manufacturing" of evidence by Israel is ludicrous in the extreme; they have clear satellite footage of Hezbollah guerillas firing out of built-up civillian areas. They're fighting deliberately in those areas; acts of pure cowardice and very typical of terrorist organisations clinging on for survival (Iraqi insurgency, Taliban, they're fighting with the same kind of tactics).

They're not teaching that until junior high these days. The parents in my neighborhood have shown me papers their kids have written. They don't know why their kids can't pick up on how to write. These are parents who are educated, have descent jobs and work with their kids.

The one kid left me a message like, "wut up mike wah u do in tanigte?"

I went back to him, called him a retard and asked if he knew how to spell. He said it was easier to spell it that way. I said I don't speak or read retard. I speak English and Drunk.

Every country has it's bias...

"Some have argued that the nuclear threat from Iraq is not imminent, that Saddam is at least 5-7 years away from having nuclear weapons. I would not be so certain." - Donald Rumsfeld

Reply to andopolis

"I would not be so certain." does not state anything. It states he's as stead fast in believing theyr'e 5-7 years. Maybe they're 3-5 years.

It's his wording that leaves it open. Arabs are very direct and make untrue statements.

We don't technically know how close Iraq was to having nuclear technology. Especially with Iran being so close right now and Korea.. it's possible Iraq had people working in other countries to develope it first.

We don't know and that's what Rummy said, He's not certain.

Reply to Riser

True. Western politicians are better at decieving their people without telling outright lies.

Anyone remember the Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf? If nothing else, you had to admire the man's optimism...

Reply to andopolis

That's the truly sad part in all loss of life, we never know how many young people we constantly kill off in country's constantly at war around this world that could have been the next Einstein and invented an alternative fuel out of sand or designed the next robotic heart that actually works or invented the next engine to power spaceships to a sister galaxy in 20 weeks instead of twenty light years.

So much wasteful loss, so much humanity gone never to be recovered and so much of our selves lost every day because of it. It makes ones own existence worthless just seeing it happen. Not much point to wars such as this if they can make humanity feel pointless.

As for the rest of it your correct form of Australian English or British English is NOT North American or Canadian English. If you ran half of what you guys type through MS Word 99% of your lads sentence structure would come up fragmented. You can run my American English through MS word for sentence structure if you wish too you will see it's not.

You have one punctuation point in that sentence, Sod, and its the period at the end. You're telling me that American/Canadian grammar, sentence structure and punctuation allows for that paragraph let alone that sentence.

There's not a teacher of English in either country who'd give that a pass mark. Not one.

Now Sod, I use Skype on occasion and I'd like to talk to you in person about the Middle East because, to be frank, its nigh impossible to properly expostulate one's political position here on the forum--there's just not enough words one can put down quickly enough.

Hezbollah isa terrorist organisation that is funded by Iran--$350 million in this last year alone--it operates a state within a state in the south and is clearly autonomous of the fragile Lebanese government.

They have called for the annihilation of the Jewish state, Sod. That is irrefutable, inarguable fact. Hardcore! They have enormous support in the south of the country whereby so-called "civilians" are directly involved or have strong links to their organisation. These liberal notions of "proportionate response" and "strategic reasoning" are simply ludicrous when fighting a terrorist group who fights within civil infrastructure.

You agree with their philosophy or you dont; and I know your no anti-semite.

What is wrong with you today? You expect me to know everything you've posted here in the last week, month or year; you expect me to trawl through old threads that are often gag threads anyways--hi-jacked and enjoyed by countless users--and come back to you and remember all of your diatribes so that I can succinctly agree with you and say: oh yes, Sod, thats right, you posted that comment last week and yes, I'm in agreeance, etc., etc..

Give me a break man. You know thats ridiculous.

How about just giving me a friendly comment regarding the fact that you posted that comment already and we're in agreeance and its all good? You dont have to piss in my face, mate, I am only human after all--just like you, Chief.

Yes, it was remiss of me to not read all of the multiple threads here regarding the Israeli/Hezbollah situation although I have tried to keep up with them as best I can what given working 10 hour days, keeping up with friends and family, and my busy social life and trying to maintain my every-Sunday volunteer day at the hospital.

I just think a little tact from you Sod would be appreciated. You do realise that you write with a distinctive overtone? Its not necessarily arrogant, but certainly pompous and I mean that sincerely; I'm not putting you down here.

Its extremely difficult to read your typing, Sod.

Just a hint for all you up and coming farters and general bottom enthusiasts....

I was always frustrated by the way turds break up when you "drop a cable" into the toilet. So, in search of a solution, I travelled to the Dead Sea, which has an extremely high salt saturation level, so everything floats on it.

Squatting down to water level, I managed to let a huge long cable uncoil from within my bowels, unbroken by gravity. I last saw this three foot long cable floating away in the direction of Jordan.

As a consequence, there were no 'gaps' in the turd in which my valuable bottom gas could hide. So I finished the day with a long, sonorous and somewhat forelorn fart that lasted all of thirty seconds, enhanced by the bubbling sound from the water surrounding my semi-submerged ass.

....hint: do not try this if you have piles - the salt water really smarts!......

I did offer to call you on Skype, Sod. I've chatted to Russ, RC, Lofty, Action_Man, DH and Pat on occasion and its all been good as I've gotten to know those gentlemen so much more, and naturally, understood their perspectives a great deal better.

I'm hoping to call my good mates Russ and RC tonight if possible; as I've only just got a new pair of $15 headphones and mic to try out.
