Programs won't open windows 7

Hello,
None of my programs will open normally. Whenever i try to open a program, I get the request to choose a program to open it with. Sometimes this works ok, other times I just get a blank window in that program. Even when it works, it must be done every time.
Thanks to anybody who can make a suggestion here.

Scan you computer with some AntiVirus software . I recommend you AVAST 6 Free.
After you clean you computer, try a repair with a Win 7 DVD insterted in you optical drive .
