I run a recreation program for Washington State and we are looking to
buy a photo printer that will print 4X6 prints that look just like
35mm. We are currently using a poloroid spectra and we are looking to
get out of the dark ages! We need about 15-30 prints a week but a new
printer would have to last us several years and be low cost at the
same time. I did some research and noticed the Epson Stylus C84 and
the Cannon i900D. My main concern is clocking and bleeding of the
inks and if the printer will be an ink hog. C-net quoted about .17
cents a page for Epson but little was said about the canon i900. Are
there any recommendations for one printer or the other, or perhaps
there are better options that are low cost?

Why not try Epson R200, it can print 4X6 too.

If you want to print it without costing you too much,
try to use some sort of Bulk Ink System:
