I'm looking to add an intake to my case and noticed that the front panel can support either 1 120mm fan or 2 80mm fans. Not sure which route to take. What little I have found has suggested that 1 120mm fan will pull more air and create less noise.

"What is 1 120mm fan?"

"That is correct! Tell the boy what he's won!"

In all seriousness, I would have to agree that 1 120mm would serve better then 2 80mm. I got these AeroCool 120mm fans that are quote "suppose to pull 89.90 CFM", but none the less, they work really well and are super quiet.

Just my 2cents

Its all about the speed of the fans... And how much noise you can take!

For example, a 2600rpm 80mm fan will make about 20-25db (hopefully). A 4000rpm 80mm fan will make your computer sound like a model airplane - but it will pull more air in, which is measured in cubic feet per minute(cfm), I believe.

A 2600rpm 120mm fan will sound a little louder as the 80mm, again, hopefully. But it will pull alot more air than the 80mm, because its bigger and scoops in more air. If you don't really need that much cfm, get a lower speed 120mm - it'll be quieter.

So yeah, 120mm is the way to go. Speed is up to you. Just do your research and get a nice quiet one - the lower the rotation, the lower the noise.

I've used vantec stealth fans in my case (80mm variant) and they're pretty good. Lasted 5yrs so far, not one's dead yet.
Here's a link to the 120mm variant.

120 mm fan would do you just fine remember 1 120 mm is the equivalent of 2 80mm fans(you wanna know how shouldnt it be 160mm not 120 mm no your wrong your measuring 2 angles width and length so basicaly 4 80mm fans go into 160 mm fan but only 2 80 mm fans go into the 120 mm)
