Standard Windows apps crash when I type...

Hello all,

I just found a very very strange issue that my Windows 7 Ult x64 installation has. Whenever I type in any of the built in programs (like CMD, explorer, the search bar in the start menu, notepad, etc.), the program freezes. But when I try to type in any other program, like Chrome, it works just fine. Does anybody know how to fix this? It's quite annoying, and I sorta need to use my computer...

I did check for driver updates already.

Just want to add- now it's working, but when I reboot it won't work again. The only thing I did between when it wouldn't work and now is make a batch file in Notepad++ to rename a file, since I couldn't do it any other way.

i had also this problem, and hopefully it solved.

Check for any running word processor and end its process.
In my case, it happened because of white smock. I found it when I checked my task manager > performance tab, and after ending its processes, they operating system came back to normal mode.
