if possible, can someone buy a scsi raid controller, 2x 15k rpm hdd and raid 0 it? people who have unlimited money to spend always think the raptors are the best, why not just go scsi?

That's what exactly I did when Raptor wasn't around.
15K HDDs are cheap if 2nd hand, SCSI RAID cards are not.

Not exactly useful for a gaming rig. I use it for a game server.

why isnt it useful for a gaming rig? wouldnt it work?

No the ultimage in for those with unlimmited funds wouldn't be a Raptor, it would be a i-Ram DisK which uses up to 8 GB of DDR memory to create a virutal hard drive. (Actually the 8 GB model may have been released yet )

And a Raptor is less than the price of a decent video card and will keep its value far longer.

Definately not the first item on your list when considering where to throw money at your computer to make it faster, but it does belong on the list.
