Building a new Rig, mainly for gaming, I play, eq2, Fear, HL2, ect ect
My budget for this is around $700

Heres what I was thinking:

Epox EP-9NPA3 nforce4 ultra Motherboard
AMD Athlon64 x2 3800+
Sapphire Radeon x850XT Pci-ex
2GB 2x1gb Patriot Pc3200 DDR
250GB Western Digital Sata3GB Harddrive

I'll be transplanting these components, into my current Antec Tower case, with 500 Antec PSU, Sound Blaster Audigy2 Gamer, and various Optical drives.. I also have the thermaltake silent K8 heatpipe cooler ( this should keep this chip cool??)

any suggestions would be helpful... btw I plan on RAID0 in the future just not at this time

if your not going to multitask I agree on the 3700 and a gpu upgrade. The system you have selected may have to sacrifice some visuals on fear if you raise the resolution to 1280x1024. or Battlefield 2 type games.

Ok so the Epox board is no longer offered by Newegg, so I put together another system for around the same price, a little bit more....

heres what i've come up with.
Asus An8-SLI Motherboard
Amd Athlon64 X2 3800+ (not planning on OCing, so went with x2 over opty)
eVga Geforce 7800GT 256
2gb Patriot pc3200 CL2.5

gonna use my current sata drives , 160gb and 120gb for the time being.

thoughts?
