Importance of the L1 cache: X2 4400 vs Opty 170 Tags: CPUs Performance Cache Last response: February 17, 2006 2:28 AM in CPUs Share dangerous_squid February 16, 2006 10:04:57 PM I'm debating between these two chips, also I plan on OCing. The Opty 170 seems like the obvious choice here, but has half the L1 cache of the X2 4400. I'm no techie, is this an important aspect of performance? Also, for those of you who have either of these chips what have you been able to OC them to and keep your system stable?
