I have a MSI6800GT and was wondering if my AMD64 3000+ might be slowing me down. I have been playing alot of BF2 and noticed that it uses 100% of the processor 100% of the time. What might be slowing me down? Specs listed below.

Most games uses 100% of CPU power all the time. Games that are serveral years old even do that. The games are designed to use all available CPU power.

BF2 is a CPU demanding game but I think your CPU is enough. Your graphics card is probably the bottleneck in most new games.

It's the RAM. It wasn't until I got a 2gb of RAM that I
could play BF2 1600x1200 everything on high 100%
smoothly with a 64 3400+ and a 6800GT. My 3400+
is running a stock 2.2 as of now.

Oops I forgot that. BF2 is probably the most RAM demanding game today.

of course itll use 100% of your cpu, the game will try to get the best performance out of it, no matter what processor you have.

is that 100% cpu usage during the game? cause that's normal. but if your system is idle and ur at 100% cpu, some nasty software is runnin at the back. :D

bf2 is the only game that takes advantige of 1+ gb ram systems.
1.5 gig help alot, but 2 gig is better as others mentioned.
its playable with 1 gig, but u should notice that bf uses ALL ram
available, and it really does want more hehe
