Full screen prob

Hi ppl....
Recently all my full screen applications( read games) are getting minimised when i run them! i have to Alt+tab repeatedly many times to make them full screen!
This thing is happeneing to EACH AND EVERY game tht i am trying to play!
So i used dxdiag to chk for probs! Now over here wen i test direct3D it doesnt run and gives a message tht "you cancelled the test by pressing a key"
WTF...i didnt do anything!!
Also this prob crept up pretty recently! Dunno wats wrong!!
HELP!!!!!!!

My sys config:
P4 2.8HT (800Mhz FSB)
intel 865GBF mobo
256MB PC3200 RAM
80GB Samsung +15Gb Quantum HDD
Ge force FX 5700VE 128Mb
Windows XP pro SP1+SP2

Sounds like your keyboard may be malfunctioning or have a stuck key. I would borrow a keyboard from someone (or from work if you can get away with that sort of thing ) and see if the problem disappears.

How up to date is your AV and Firewall? Could you have picked up a virus or trojan? Try running SpyBot just in case you have something nasty hiding on you system.

DFenn i have the latest Virus defnitions for norton AV...also using Norton internet security ,last updated 2 days back!
I ran a scan last nite, didnt find anything!
Also my Geforce Fx 5700Ve is using Forceware 61.82
i tried reinstalling the drivers, but tht didnt help either!

plz help me out ppl!! I am unable to play games bcoz of this!!! I really wanna finish Raven shield at vet settings!! I was totally hooked playing wen this prob occured!!

nope ...i dont even have it!!!
It just gets minimised!! it plays the opening vdos and stuff!
Even the menu and mission selection....but wen it has to start the actual game...it just gets minimised!!
I just can get it full screen..... even if i try for a long time!!
In some games if i right clik on the minimised window....then it goes back to full screen!! for instance IGI2....but in Raven shield it doesnt happen...i just get the options like "move", "close", "restore" etc!!
one more thing, if i clik restore, then the game windows goes into windowed mode without any prob!!
Plz Advise!

I had just been reading that many folks running folding@home have games minimize unless they pause the folding while they play.

hmmmm, i wonder if thats why one of my games is doing that. i never bothered to trouble shoot it cause i didnt install the game on my freshly installed os, i just ran it from another hard drive i had it on. ill have to try that when i get home.
