Is DDR or DDR2 better for an AMD system?

I'm going to buy new RAM no matter what and I am not going to OC it. Should I get DDR or DDR2 for an Opteron 170 CPU? Should I go for latency or bandwidth? Does it make a signifigant difference?

Maybe you should wait til June to ask that question. It is currently not an option as AMD will only work with DDR.

Yeah, if you want performance, you may wanna try buying DDR500 and overclocking your system.

AMD is going to up it's ram to ddr2 soon. But for now ddr are the good since it the only thing avialable.
