I need to buy my new system tomorrow. Ive done a lot of searching and this is what I came up with. More than I originally wanted to spend, but I was hoping for a gaming platform which could be upgraded with little hassle and had overclocking potential.

I'm also trying to figure out if I will need a 24-20 power adapter...

MOBO: Epox 9npa+ Ultra 939 nForce4
Memory: Corsair XMS 1x1GB DDR 400 3200
CPU: AMD Opteron 144 Venus
GPU: eVGA 7800GT PCI-E
C/PS: Antec Sonata II w/ 450W PS
HD: WD Cavair 250GB SATA 3

I've been reading about this stuff for 4 hours straight. Please let me know if I have missed anything or something is not compatable.

Cheers

See the game Unreal Tournament 2007? Its running(tested) on a single 7800 GTX, your 7800GT should last till that on highest quality setting, couse the 7800GT is only a few FPS lower than a 7800GTX, meaning its a steal.

Thanks for the heads up!

I am investigating... this was a comment on newegg for the case. They reference that board. I am confused...

pretty happy

Pros: Nice case, well packaged, love the way the hardrives mount sideways. The included fan is quiet and the added bonus of the 450W at a low cost. I added another 120 fan just to help keep things cool inside, very little sound increase..

Cons: could of made something for access to fan switch from back rather then opening case to adjust if needed.

Other Thoughts: intake duct doesn't mate up with my EPOX EP-9NPA+Ultra heatsink well, but provides cool airflow when fan added to the duct. some metal edges seem sharper then older Antec cases i've used but not extreamly sharp.

It's impossible to know for sure if it will work (maybe antec have fixed the problem with newer psus).

But personally I wouldn't gamble, unless you have another system to test
your ram, proc etc. just in case one of those is damaged
and you think it's the psu-mobo, you could be in for a awkward RMA infested build.

Just got off the phone with Antec. (ANTEC 800-222-6832) Turns out this was only an issue for European customers and not US.

Thanks

If I had seen this earlier, I would have recommended you buy two 512MB RAM modules. It would allow for dual channel performance with one GB of memory. However, the single one GB module allows for an easy upgrade to two GB dual channel, but deprives your system of dual channel performance until said upgrade.
