Whenever I run a program such as Super Pi or Folding@home it will only use 50% of CPU i was wondering if there is a way to force it to use both core to reach 100% CPU usage. Also is this an Intel thing? or do AMD X2's do the same thing? Granted that these are not multi Threaded applications only using 50% CPU is pretty lame.

When it says "50%", it means it's using 100% of 1 CPU. Since you have 2 CPU's, think of 100% as 200%, whereas 50% would really be 100% of 1 CPU. This is true with all Dual-Core and Multi-CPU systems.

I know that but i want it to put forth full power. i want both cores running 100%.

Unless the program is written to use multiple threads (CPU's), there is nothing you can do.

Hmm well ok. But do AMDs do the same thing?

Yes. Dual Core and 64 bit are going to need a 64 bit operating system and need software written for the mulltiple processors to truly do their job. In the mean time just do two things at once to use those CPUs. 8)
