For some reason, my computer does not have the Microsoft
calculator on my Win XP. Can I download it from
somewhere? What can be done?? I don't have my install
disk.

Go to Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows
components>accessories>calculator.

When I tried that, it looked for files that I don't have -
first one was freecell and did not know how to get past
that. I searched on my c: but I don't have freecell,
either. Advice? Is it necessary to have the install disk
to do this? Thank you!

Try again, follow the directions, which I did not state quite clear
enough... Plus, I have no idea what FreeCell has to do with any of this.
Go to Start>control panel>add/remove programs. On the left pane select
Add/Remove Windows components. Wait until the pages loads. Then, highlight
the Accessories and utilities button> click the 'detail' button>select
accessories, click detail.then put a mark next to the calculator.
If that doesn't work, you are SOL, because without the disk, you have
nothing to download it from. Of course, you could do a Google for a freebie,
there might be one out there.

Use the Windows Search function and search for calc.exe. I found multiple
copies on my machine. I found it in C:\Windows\System32 and
C:\Windows\System32\dllcache.

try Start/run calc.exe and see if it runs, you may have
simply moved or hidden the link in accessories.
You can make this shortcut C:\WINDOWS\system32\calc.exe
