I just built my brand new system (Specs listed below), and was toying with the driver. I enabled OCing, and found that there was an auto setting. What does that do? Is that preferable to manual OCing?

My System:
Antec P160W case
Antec Truepower II 550 PSU
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800
XFX GeForce 7800 GT (450/1050 stock)
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZX
WD 250 GB SATA II HD (2500KS)
EPOX EP-9NPA3 Ultra
Corsair XMX CL2 2x512 PC3200

Ok, after doing some websearching, I found that it seems it's good to use as a reference point for finding out how far your card can go, and starting from there, but is there a guide to using it? How exactly does it work? I couldn't find any consensus or good FAQ on it.
