While it's hard for me to justify spending more than $250 for a 7800GT, Newegg has some good prices on the HIS Radeons after rebates.

7800GT for $250 is an amazing price; just 3 months ago that was the price of the 6800GS, which is quite a performance gap. However if you're totally hardcore about gaming and high-res and HD, you may want to opt to go to an X1800/X1900 card.

It's more just a poll to see what others would buy, than me looking for advice. I actually already made up my mind as to what would replace a 6800U in my A64 4000+ / 2GB ram system. So don't think about me. Assume your own gaming rig, and vote for the HIS Radeon that you would shell out your money on. If without question you would buy the 7800GT, vote for that one.

I would be looking at the AIW series. The X1900 is pretty inexpensive, although that X1800XL is rather cheap, and it come with some nice memory and nice freebies. That's what I'd prefer more than the list.

But from the list I'd take the XL and OC the crap out of it.... after adding a AC cooler (dang thing doesn't come with one comes with the single slot thingy!)

The GT is a nice deal, but the headroom on the XL is attractive.

I actually submitted my order for the X1800XT and then 20 minutes later cancelled my order (after thoughts of the high resolution boost of the 1900XT in launch reviews compared to the 18xt just did me in). :?

If it had been an ICe Q version coming with Flatout like that X850XT(oh if that were AGP!) or THIS ABSOLUTE BEAUTY, I would have kept the X1800XT order going. I'm sure I'd have been thilled with the card, but the 19xt is what I want. I went back and forth between the two before ordering and just decided I'm not going into the $500+ range. Anyway, my struggle to be happy 20 minutes after a purchase is what made me start this poll; wondering what others here would buy. The lack of X1800XT votes will ease my pain of not getting that HIS.:roll:

All in all the cheapskate in me came out as newegg even charges me tax and Zipzoom had the 7800GT for $256 shipped free no tax. So my price for the His X1800XT would have been $442 after the $40 rebate, whereas the 7800GT is $256 after $20 rebate. Ugh, cheapskate won out over fanboy and once again for my own gamer I went NV. *bangs head against wall * :roll: But I tell ya, X1900XTX Ice Q 3 for around $400 some day....couldn't resist that deal.
