6800 XT PCI-E Version - Can the last 4 pipelines be unlocked

Hi there,

I've just purchased a Sparkle Nvidia 6800 XT 256 MB PCI-Express version which is based on the NV41 chipset.

The card has only 8 pipelines enabled by default, but does have 12 pipelines onboard.

In Rivia Tuner, I can see the rest of the pipelines but there showing disabled, and when I click to put a tick in the box and enable them they still show as being disabled.

There are plenty of articles on the web about how the agp version can be enabled using this method in Rivia Tuner, but very little on unlocking the PCI-E version.

My thoughts so far are, "well there's 4 more pipes onboard so there must be someway of unlocking them", "if they can't be unlocked via rivia tuner, can the bios be flashed to say a 6800 GS PCI-E which is a default 12 pipeline card".

My questions are as follows:

Is there anyway of unlocking the remaining 4 pipelines on the 6800 XT PCI-E version?

Has anyone done it, and can you tell me the method?

Many Thanks,
