Hi all,

I have a Dell Axim x5 that I synch with wireless to IBM T40 Thinkpad. I
work from home and use a vpn connection on my Thinkpad to be connected to my
corporate network, via wireless on the T40 to a Microsoft wireless router,
then broadban back to corporate.

When I am connected using my VPN I can use Active Synch via the USB and
cradle, but if I try to synch using wireless to the T40 it can't find the
T40. if I disconnect the vpn on the T40 and try a wireless synch it works
fine. This is a major pain.

Any ideas how I can wirelessly synch to the T40 while it is connected via
VPN to my corportae LAN?

Thanks,

DavidM

I do not profess to be a VPN expert, but I believe this is normal behavior
(it
happens to me as well). Perhaps you would be able to sync if you connected
your
PDA to the VPN as well; right now, it sounds like your VPN client just
isn't allowed
to accept local LAN connections. Another option might be modifying the
settings
on your PC's client to allow local LAN connections. I just tried this out
with my own
VPN client, and it works like a charm. If you can get it to work, there's
no guarantee
that the IT Powers That Be (assuming you're not one of them) would approve
of this.
