I've searched around for an answer to this, but as of yet, haven't found
one.
I'd like to web message my parents a quick message while they are in
Germany (and since they aren't checking their email, I'd rather text it
than try to spell what I want so there isn't a chance of getting the
wrong item). The phone is a trimode phone using Cingular, not unlocked
with another company's SIM card, and is working just fine to place calls
here from there.
I don't know what kind of agreements Cingular has in Germany (all I know
is that caller id pops up with their normal cell phone number, as usual)
but if I send a web message through the Cingular site, will it arrive
fairly quickly to their phone or must the phone be *inside* the US?

Courtney,
Do they have a cingular phone?
Do they have a GSM phone?
If they have a cinular phone there phone email address
xxxyyyzzzz@mobile.mycingular.net
If they have somebody elses sim card, just sms them.
The message will go through. Be sure to use the full county code and
phone number.
I have lots of experience with this.
