I've got a 2.2gHz Northwood on an 850xt chipset Asus motherboard (socket 478). The manual doesn't say "must have northwood" but does specifically mention "the northwood" chip in several places.
However, I don't find northwood chips for sale any more, and I want to upgrade up to a 3.2gHz or faster.
Do the newer cores work with this motherboard? If so, which core would work best? What are my limits in terms of processor speed?
