DVD won't take what appears to be within it's capacity

I have a NEC ND-3550A DVD writer.

I am attempting to burn a backup to a Memorex 4X 4.7GB DVD+RW.

The content I'm trying to burn includes 3.3GB over 58 folders (web site backups).

The program I am using is BurnRight from http://www.kiwialpha.com/burnright/index.htm

When I drag a folder from my hard drive to the DVD (using their interface), then burn the DVD, only a portion of the content is being burned.

Any idea what the problem is? What's your preference of DVD burning software? Nero?

It's not a huge amount of help but you've touched on a good idea, try another burner program. Nero has never given me any problems. I'm sure you could find an evaluation copy just to see if it's a hardware issue.
