There u go. The only 2 things i don't like about it is it's a little fat and it has a short battery life. i can get about 1.5 days out of it. 1 day w/ bluetooth enabled.
I like the phone, but considering the phones home is in my pocket, it just seems a bit too fat. Thanks for the suggestion though, lookin forward to highspeed internet on my 190x100pix phone
Im thinking of the Razr V3m only because its soo popular, there are a buncha hacks for it that I like. But from what i have used of them, the menu SUCKS!!!!! and it does that badly.
I have a novatel S620 card (sprint service), and use it a lot. I can't wait till the whole alltel sprint roaming actually works. They announced it back in july, but they're still working out the kinks. I can roam on alltell, but can't be authenticated yet. I'm in full on 1xrtt, but it's faster than dial-up.
Supposedly they make a repeater that fits in your car. You have your external antenna mounted on your vehicle and then amplifier in your trunk and the internal antenna in your vehicle. I think the antennas have to be at least 5' apart to work correctly. Supposed to help out in fringe areas, and increase battery life because you're phones doesn't have to try as hard to find a signal.
have you messed with the verizon version of the razor? i ask because verizon's menu layout is significantly different from cingular's. dunno if it's any better though...
I don't mind carrying this LG 9800 so much. I use bluetooth, so it's not a big deal talking on it. Also, I wear slacks so the phone fits comfortably in my pants. the major advantages are the 1.3MP camera, miniSD card slot, full verizon web capabilities, and the mp3 player. it also records videos.
Well after about 3 days of looking the Samsung SCH-i730 looks like a winner. It does not have a camera which may work out fine, although I wanted to record video . http://reviews.cnet.com/Samsung_SC [...] ml?tag=sub
Im not sure about the PDA of it, but the phone is still small, and I can play all my favorite handheld games on it. Well i suppose i can sell it if i dont like it... Personaly, im happy with my little 30$ nokia, but doing more is alaways cool as long as the phone knows its a phone.
Other then no camera, I would apreicate any objections people can think of before i jump.
The only disadvantage I see is the talk time. 120 minutes. If you're like me and on the phone 2-3hrs a day, that's not going to cut it. Sure you can get cigarette chargers, but those are a pain in the ass.
There is a batery upgrade that improves that quite abit, i think to 240 minutes. But ya 120 is ugh. I dont use bluetooth so at least i wont worry about battery drain.
Well, urg. I just want a phone that does these things well. Is this soo hard?
mp3 ring tone (dl from computer)
ring tone per ID or caller group
Tetris
Good menu layout + buttons.
mp3 and or camera+video
expansion slot.
Good speaker phone
Good thin phone or at least not all bulk.

thats It. I dont need internet, alhtough flash games would be cool.
it's not actually working yet. i've noticed them testing it (ie, my phone will go from EVDO to 1x every once in a while while sitting at my desk). the whole city is supposed to be online all at once by the end of the year.
so no point in the wireless repeater. but thanks for the suggestion. :-)
Sunk to the razr, its offical. I couldnt get most of the phones on the plan I want (if i wanted a discount). And I have been reading alot of mods can be done on this phone.
How's it working? That stuff works miracles for me.
Be warned that it's addictive. I don't care what the f'ing commercials say. I hate myself for it, but I can't sleep without Ambien anymore. It's not one of those "OMG, I gotta have my Ambien or I'll flip out" addictivnesses... it's just I can't fall asleep without it. Well... I can, but it takes forever. But it still doesn't have any narcotic side effects. You won't see any folks out there killing people for Ambien.
Anyways the benefits far outweigh the addictive qualities IMO. I never have trouble falling asleep anymore.
I'll let you know how it works, after a few days.... I took it last night & I woke up 3 times. I was able to go right back to sleep.... I've been waking up in the middle of the night & then can't get back to sleep.....
Got the Razr v3m saterday and it sucks! As far as being stylish, its great, and the menu system has been much inproved, but the sound system is horrible. The volume cuts in and out slightly and is too quiet anyway. The speaker volume is hardly louder then the ear speaker. Some featues are missing too, or hard to get to, such as changing profiles / rings....
Urgh
I Did, it took 4 hours to replace it the the same phone (incase it was just a specific issue). If I had use for cellphone internet I would deffinantly go with that recommended flip phone, but at this point I may just go with a cheapy and get a beter phone later on... although soo much for my 2 year agreement discounts...
hey man, did u check out that LG Chocolate? I just read a review of it on Cnet, they really liked it.
Been testing one for a few weeks on our network, nice, but it did something that I don't like in that the format on my microSD card doesn't allow me to access it from my laptop or work computer (happened with a Nokia I was using too a while back).
My personal phone is still the Kyo, but the Chocolate is a nice phone for someone not wanting full Smartphone, and IMO it's better than the Razr, despite my preference of Clamshell designs.
